Electronic/Full-Text Journals Area

The "Electronic Journal" area of this website has been re-named "Electronic/Full-Text Journals." The name was changed to better describe this collection of journal articles available in electronic format. The area has been significantly enhanced, provid ing access to selected "e-journals" and to the library's "full-text" journal article databases such as WilsonSelect. Each database is searchable and maintains its own title list. Visit this area at: Electronic/Full-Text Journals.


FirstSearch Database Additions

12/18/97
The Library's FirstSearch 1 service has expanded to include four new databases: Dissertation Abstracts, Newspaper Abstracts, Contemporary Women's Issues and EconLit. FirstSearch 1 is available only through WIU logins.


New Database! International Index to Music Periodicals

The Music Library now subscribes to this extensive online database which draws its content from more than 350 international music periodicals. Visit the Music Library webpage to access this resource. Available only through WIU logins.


More Project Muse Titles

Fifteen new electronic journal titles from Johns Hopkins University's Project Muse are now directly accessible through the library's Electronic Journals page. Available only through WIU logins.


Library's Audiovisual Catalog on the Web

9/19/97
The Audiovisual Services Subject Catalog is now available on the WWW. The catalog lists hundreds of videos, audio cassettes, 16 mm films, and other media titles by subject.


New Library Homepage Design

8/25/97
Beginning with the 1997 Fall semester, the University Library is unveiling its new website at http://www.wiu.edu/library. The new design was developed by the library's WWW Task Force to better organize the site's web-related resources and to improve the general layout. Many new features, links, and online databases have been added. Return here often to take advantage of a variety of information resources.
