Head of Voice, M.F.A. Florida State University Member, Actors Equity Association Member, Screen Actors Guild Member, American Federation of Television and Radio Artist Carolyn Blackinton is a specialist in voice for the actor and acting for the camera. A professional actress for over 17 years she has worked extensively in regional theaters throughout the country, including the Northlight Theatre, Illinois, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Wisconsin, the Cape Playhouse, Massachusetts, and Asolo Theatre, Florida.

Carolyn has considerable experience in film and video media having appeared in over a hundred commercials and industrial films. She has also been a casting director for Cheri Mann and Associates in Chicago. Carolyn has been very active in the American College Theatre Festival, been a board member on the Executive Committee of Region III and served as an adjudicator for the Irene Ryan acting awards.

Carolyn served as the conference planner for the Voice and Speech Trainers Association for three years.  Prior to coming to Western Illinois, she was the Head of the B.F.A. acting program at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and taught voice and styles of acting at the University of Georgia.  While at the University of Georgia she was the recipient of an Excellence in Teaching Award from Franklin College.
