About UsDawn Tonkinson
My name is Dawn Tonkinson, I'm 19 years old and I am super excited to be Co-Clinic Chair and help run Mini UDT this year. My partner, Jacqulin and I have so many fun and exciting things planned throughout this year. First, let me tell you a little bit about myself:
I am a sophomore here at Western Illinois University, majoring in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Administration with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreationl. I also am working towards a double minor in Dance and Psychology. I am in sorority on campus here as well, Delta Zeta. My first year being on the company I helped with clinic as well as being a mentor for Mini UDT both semesters. I really enjoy the atmosphere the kids bring as well as our University Dance Theatre
Being on the University Dance Theatre Company has brought alot of fun and exciting things in my life. I have been dancing since I was 3 years old training in many different studios. I did recreational dance my whole life, and have competed in dance since I was 13. My favorite style of dance is jazz and contemporary. This is going to be my 3rd semester in UDT, and I'm very excited to see what new things await for me. Being part of clinic and Mini UDT is an amazing oppurtinity because it gives me a chance to see these young individuals grow, learn, and have the same passion for dance as I do. I cant wait to begin our fun adventure!
I'm Jacquilyn Rae Frausto and I am 19 years old. I hold the position of Co-Clinic Chair with my partner Dawn. I am currently a Sophomore and my major is Social Work with a Dance minor. I've been dancing since I was little. I never took any dance classes or was a part of any company until I got into high school and now in college. Dancing is not about being good, but it is about having fun. Therefore, this day is special and welcomes everyone who is willing to try something new and have fun!
My first year in the dance company I was mentor, myself, and I really enjoyed making connection with the kids. The kids are great and they really enjoying being with older kids! I really wanted to be apart of making Clinic and making the day enjoyable for the kids and mentor. The best day is not just Clinic, but also Mini UDT! Mini UDT gets to experience a performance in one of our shows and they get to see what it's like to be apart of big cast and put on a show. So please, if you are interested sign your child up! An amazing mentor is waiting!
