Audition Information for B.F.A. in Musical Theatre  

Auditions/Interviews are NOT required for admission to the BA program.

Auditions for the BFA in Musical Theatre  

For Audition purposes, you do NOT have to be accepted to the school at the time of your audition. However, if an offer is made contact the Admission Office for more information or APPLY NOW online.  

Admission into our BFA Musical Theatre program does come with a front-loaded Talent Grant / Tuition Waiver for your first year, however the bulk of financial help will be offered through our University Scholarship Offices .  

All students interested in Musical Theatre are first admitted to WIU as an acting major. Candidates for the BFA program are selected through competitive auditions. Chosen candidates are then offered a position in the program and the major changes to the BFA in Musical Theatre.

BFA Musical Theatre Audition Dates for 2024-25:

  • Saturday, October 26, 2024 beginning @ 9:30am
  • Saturday, February 15, 2025 beginning @ 9:30am
  • Saturday, April 5, 2025 beginning @ 9:30am

All of these auditions can be coupled with our "The Day In The Life experience" which will be on the Friday before. Meet students, attend classes, see a show!

If you are unable to attend an audition in person, we do take VIDEO SUBMISSIONS. Details are in the Audition Link below.

Audition Requirements for the BFA in Musical Theatre:  

We follow the guidelines set forth by the Musical Theatre Common Prescreen.  

Please see the document link below for additional information you need for our specific program / university. Candidates for the BFA program are chosen based on a performance audition along with the general admission standards of Western Illinois University.
