About Us

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers undergraduate programs in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education and a dual program in Special Education and Elementary Education.

Our Department

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers undergraduate programs in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education and a dual program in Special Education and Elementary Education. We also offer graduate programs in Reading (leading to the Reading Specialist and Reading Teacher endorsements), Special Education (including a track for certified teachers seeking an endorsement in special education and a track for special education teachers seeking advanced coursework), and Elementary Education (including on campus options as well as an option offered entirely online).

 

The goal of each undergraduate and graduate program is to assist candidates in developing the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to positively impact P-12 student learning. To achieve this goal, we offer coursework and a variety of field experiences that focus on the use of evidence-based practices, differentiated instruction, technology, and varied assessments to plan and implement instruction in ways that promote student growth and achievement.
