The Fred Ewing Case and Lola Austin Case Writer-in-Residence lecture has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 29 at the Western Illinois University Art Gallery. The event is open free to the public.

This year's writer-in-residence is Ire'ne Silva, a poet and experimental writer. Her poetry, short stories and essays have appeared in more than 40 journals and anthologies.

Silva was the recipient of the 2014 Alfredo Cisneros del Moral Award, the 2013 Fictional Finalist for AROHO's Gift of Freedom and the 2008 recipient of the Gloria Anzaldua Milagro Award. She was also a 2010 Cantomundo Inaugural Fellow.

The Fred Ewing Case and Lola Austin Case Writer-in-Residence supports bringing national writers of poetry and fiction to Western each year. The writers teach workshops and seminars for creative writing students and conduct readings of their work.
