  • 2 p.m. Reunion registration starts; it continues throughout the weekend. Registration will take place at the Alumni House.
  • 2 p.m. Unveiling of the new Colonel Ray "Rock" Hanson Statue, west of Hanson Field
  • 5-9 p.m.  All-Alumni Social, Alumni House (Complimentary food, beer, wine and soda; cash bar available)
Saturday, September 30, 2017
  • 7-7:45 a.m.  Old Stompin' Ground Runaround Registration, Alumni House
  • 8 a.m.  Old Stompin' Ground Runaround: 5K Run/1.5 mile walk
  • 8:30 a.m.  Reunion Recognition Brunch & Social, Alumni House
  • 9:30 a.m.  All-Alumni Breakfast, Alumni House (Complimentary coffee and donuts)
  • 10:30 a.m.  Homecoming Parade
  • Noon-3 p.m.  Alumni Cookout at "The Right Place" tent - in Q LOT
  • 3 p.m.  Leathernecks Football Game vs. South Dakota - Hanson Field
    Tickets will not be mailed. The Homecoming football ticket sales are final. Therefore, all tickets purchased through the WIU Alumni Association are non-refundable.
  • 1-3 p.m. Music performed by the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America's pop group, Starlifter - Q LOT

Lead vocalist, Senior Airman Denver Murphy, is a 2010 WIU graduate. Starlifter is a seven-piece group of talented Airman Musicians who perform virtually every musical idiom, from Rock and Pop to Jazz and Country, to great contemporary and traditional patriotic songs. Starlifter features the best in popular music from the 1970's to the most current sounds at the top of today's charts. 

**If you order mums, t-shirts, football tickets and/or lunch tickets, you can pick them up at the Alumni House any time on Friday and until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. After 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, tickets/mums/t-shirts will be taken down to The Right Place tent, which is in Q Lot. You can pick up your items there. Any football tickets not picked up by 3:00 p.m. (game time) on Saturday will be left at the will call window at the stadium.

 

2017 Grand Marshals

Thompson 

Western Illinois University alumni Dave '72 and Jackie '85 '94 Thompson have been named the grand marshals for the WIU 2017 Homecoming Celebration, "Storybook Homecoming: A Tale of Leatherneck Pride."

"The Thompson's commitment to and unwavering support of WIU their entire lives demonstrates their Leatherneck pride through and through. They are the ideal choice to lead the 2017 parade," said WIU Alumni Programs Director Amy Spelman '98.

Jackie served as the vice president for administrative services at Western for 14 years, retiring in 2011 after 41 years and Dave is a Macomb Northwestern Mutual Financial Agent.

  Parking Information

Permits will not be required in lots as of 5 p.m. Friday, until 7 a.m. Monday, with the exception of residence hall lots. Visitor parking is not allowed in reserved residence hall lots. Tickets will be issued to violators in handicapped spaces, reserved spaces and no parking zones (any area not designated as a parking space). If you have any questions or special parking needs, such as handicapped parking, please contact parking services at (309)298-1921.
