Think Purple!
Western's Think Purple Marketing efforts continue throughout the state, and beginning this fall, Marketing is building upon the successful Think Purple theme by integrating a "success" message within many of its messages, ads, and more.
Building upon Think Purple, Western's 2013-2014 message is "Think Purple, Think Success, Think Western" and ties in with the hashtag, #SuccessStory and wiu.edu/SuccessStory. A series of five commercials will be aired on WGEM in Quincy, and select commercials will be appearing in movie theatres and other television stations across the United States. Featured success stories include WIU students Chris Lovingood, broadcasting, of Peoria, and Sammy Marshall, exercise science of Naperville; WIU alumni Patrick Magoon of Chicago and Joe Decker of California; and Jen McNabb, WIU history professor. We are also continuing that success theme on billboards in various Illinois cities, and we are also using the Think Purple theme to promote select signature academic programs in key cities (Chicago - LEJA; St. Louis - LEJA and Forensic Chemistry; Bloomington/Peoria - agriculture).
In the near future, our alumni will be receiving a survey from Marketing Professor John Drea's MBA class regarding alumni attitudes and feedback about Think Purple. Please take a moment and share your thoughts!
