College of Education and Human Services RPTA Professional Development Conference | Alumni Receive Awards at IPRA RPTA Professional Development ConferenceThis year marks the 40th Anniversary of the RPTA Department here at Western Illinois University. More specifically, the spring semester always allows Western Illinois University alumni from the Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration Department to come back for the Professional Development Conference and interact with old friends, professionals, professors and current students. This year's Professional Development Conference is booked for April 17-19, 2008 with the founding chair of the department, Dr. Tony Mobley, as the keynote speaker. A Call for Presentations is available on the RPTA web site. Please look over the call for presentations and consider expanding the knowledge of the RPTA students. Also new this year is the RPTA Big Bogey Classic. This four person, best ball scramble, is a fundraiser for RPTA scholarships. Click here for information or to register for the tournament. Alumni Receive Awards at IPRAAt the Illinois Park and Recreation Association Annual Meeting in January, Jeanette Huber MS '04 received the Illinois Park and Recreation Association Young Professional Award. In addition, Cory Atwell '76 received the Western Illinois University Recreation Park & Tourism Alumni Association 2008 Jim Berousek Distinguished Alumnus Award. Congratulations to both!
