The Department of Art & Design’s presents “First Wednesday” for March 2024! This event for the Spring 2024 semester will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 6,2024 in Garwood Hall, the Heating Plant Annex and the University Art Gallery.
The WIU art & design faculty combine their efforts to offer creative, hands-on activities to visitors. The event is open and free to the public, and visitors are welcome from campus and the surrounding community and region.

• Modeling Clay Art Magenets

• Gyotaku Fish Printing – Professor Tim Waldrop, Garwood 20
Heating Plant Annex
• Corded Copper Bracelets – Professor Kat Myers, HPA 107
• Seed Bombs – Professor Ian Shelly, HPA 111
The University Art Gallery will also be open during the event with the fabulous exhibitions of Fred Jones - Saving the Planet and Perry Pollock & Jason Peot – Considerations.

A department-wide open studio event which is hosted by the Department of Art & Design on the first Wednesday of every full month during each academic semester. Hands-on projects in a wide variety of media are taught by the Art & Design faculty and current students.

These events are FREE and open to the public.
Projects available for all ages and skill levels.
