MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Western Illinois University freshmen and seniors are encouraged to participate in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), which will allow them to provide input on undergraduate academic challenges and future opportunities. Each participant should check their WIU email account in early February for the survey.

Students who complete the survey before April 1, 2023 will be entered to win one set of Apple AirPods Pro (second generation).

The NSSE survey measures undergraduates' academic experience at Western, including academic challenges, learning with peers and their experiences with faculty members and the campus environment.

"Participation in NSSE helps Western compare the academic experiences of our undergraduate students with that of peer groups," said Interim Director of Institutional Research and Planning Alicia Wester. "It helps us to see the areas within our undergraduate experience where we are excelling and identify areas in which we can improve. The information we obtain from the NSSE will have a broad impact across the University. The results will be used to engage faculty, department chairs, deans, professional staff and administration to improve current practices and develop new initiatives that better the student experience at WIU."
