{Note: Updated energy shed dates below}

Facilities Management needs your help to conserve energy and maintain the most favorable utility rate possible.

By helping us implement these conservation practices, we can reduce our overall electrical demand, which in turn helps us qualify for lower utility rates. Lower rates mean money saved on the University's behalf, which is good for everyone.

• Turn off any unnecessary personal/departmental computers or monitors. Note: It's recommended that regular-use computers are turned off only during energy shed dates and times below as computers run required security updates and system scans during off-hours to not disrupt users during the workday. Printers should remain in power save mode.

• Adjust window unit AC thermostats to a higher set temperature overnight. Turn off any fans overnight/weekends.

• Turn off all the lights in your office at the end of the day (and when you leave for more than 30 minutes), including bathrooms, kitchen/break areas, and meeting rooms.

• Turn off all appliances, such as coffee pots, that are not in use.

Facilities Management is implementing a load-shed program, which shuts down and/or reduces output for large equipment during scheduled blocks of time.

Load shed dates include:
Tuesday, June 21, 4-7 pm
Wednesday, June 22, 4-7 pm
Thursday, June 23, 4-7 pm
Friday, June 24, 4-7 pm
