Facilities Management Deputy Director of Operations and Maintenance Interviews Set

MACOMB, IL – Two candidates for the deputy director of operations and maintenance position in Western Illinois University's Facilities Management will be on campus for interviews this week.

Kirk Hare, WIU Facilities Management supervisor, will interview Wednesday, July 7. Jason Bainter, a gas utility journeyman for Ameren Illinois, will interview Friday, July 9. An open session will be held with each candidate at 2 p.m. via Zoom: Hare, July 7 (bit.ly/WIUFMHareOpen) and Bainter, July 9 (bit.ly/WIUFMBainterOpen). Individuals interested in attending the open session must register in advance.

Hare has served as a supervisor for WIU Facilities Maintenance moving crew since August 2011. He joined the Facilities Maintenance staff as a building service worker in December 2008, serving in that role until his promotion to supervisor in 2011. Hare also owned and operated Pro-Clean in Macomb from 2004-2013. Before joining WIU, he worked as a salesperson for Western Distributing Company in Macomb from 1996-2008, and as the building maintenance supervisor for the Macomb Park District from 1990-1996.

Hare has a bachelor's degree from WIU.

Bainter has served as gas utility journeyman for Ameren Illinois since September 2015. Previously, he was the City of Macomb Public Works director from 2001-2015. He has also worked as an assistant superintendent for Laverdiere Construction in Macomb from 1994-2001.

Bainter has an associate degree from Spoon River College.
