WIU Casa Latina Cultural Center Presents Calle Murray April 24

MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University's Casa Latina Cultural Center will host its annual Calle Murray festival from noon-1:50 p.m. and 2:10-4 p.m. Saturday, April 24 in front of the Multicultural Center. To comply with COVID-19 protocols, pre-registration by April 21 is required as each event is limited to 50 partipants. Registrations are on a first come, first served basis. Face coverings and social distancing are required.

Calle Murray is an annual event hosted by Casa Latina to celebrate the Latinx and Indigenous culture. This event brings together the WIU and Macomb in an open and engaging environment, while learning about the rich history and culture of the diverse set of Latinx countries represented by students, staff and faculty at WIU. The event will feature WIU Alumnus DJ Vestus providing music; student performances by Flora De Pina and Folklorico; a Unity Stroll by the United Greek Council; food by Aztec Dave's Food Truck and Sandra's Authentic Food Truck. Parking is available in the University Union Lot, Q-Lot and N-Lot

The event is sponsored by Alpha Psi Lambda, Amplify, the Calle Murray Planning Committee, CSAF, Gamma Phi Omega, Jimena Espinoza, LASO and the Montano family.
