Leathernecks look for a Conference win against the Bison

News PictureWestern Illinois University's football team will host conference rival North Dakota State at Hanson Field this Saturday.

This game will prove to be essential as both teams have yet to win a conference math-up this year. The Fighting Leathernecks who currently sit at 0-4 in conference are 1-6 on the season. With star quarterback Matt Barr sidelined for the rest of the season, the team will depend on other key leaders such as Dre Gibbs and Kyle Glazier to carry them to victory. Similarly, The Bison are 0-5 in conference and 1-7 overall. Coming off a loss to Missouri State (21-17), North Dakota State looks to end their 5 game losing streak.

Along with the game, Western will celebrate Hall of Fame weekend and Senior Day. According to goleathernecks.com, there are 12 seniors of the 2010 class who will be recognized. These players include Nick Daly, Sam Dancer, Buddy Dudczak, Dre Gibbs, Stephen Moore, Chris Riley, Ed Roberts, Daniel Speight, Patrick Stoudamire, Kyle Thierry, Trokon Tompo and Matt Warner.

Key Leathernecks to look for:

Dre Gibbs (RB): The senior has averaged 112.3 yards rushing in 8 games. He also has four 100+ rushing yard games. According to goleathernecks.com.

Kyle Glazier (LB):The junior leads the team defense with 74 tackles this season. In their last game against Indiana State, Glazier managed to rack up 16 tackles (a career high for the team captain). According to goleathernecks.com.

Scheduled for kickoff at 1:05pm, the game will be broadcasted live on WIUS radio (free) and Rocky Vision Audio/Video Broadcast (subscription).
