The Silver Keys is Western's premier clarinet choir. Formed in the spring of 2017, the choir has expanded to include a full instrumentation of an Eb, several Bbs, Eb alto, bass, and contra-bass clarinet. The ensemble will begin touring in the spring of 2019.
The Throat Tones is a clarinet choir comprised of musicians who play the clarinet as a secondary instrument. The group is instructed by music education majors from the Silver Keys and performs twice per semester. The group is open to all who have had previous experience with the clarinet, including techniques class instruction.
Eric Ginsberg is the organization's faculty adviser and plays in the Silver Keys choir.
