- Description: Thomas E. Helm Undergraduate Research Day provides a public, university-wide forum for undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity. Students from all academic disciplines are encouraged to submit their faculty mentored research, scholarship or creative activity. Submissions may be either completed or in-progress. Opening night activities will feature a talk on the value of undergraduate research by WIU alumnus and Centennial Honors College Scholar, Alex Heuer, and student podium presentations. Undergraduate Research Day is an FYE event, and faculty and peer mentors are encouraged to bring their FYE classes.
