Economics Day
Time: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Location: 121 Stipes Hall
Description: Learn about issues concerning U.S. and global economics at "Economics Day" in the College of Business and Technology.

Open free to WIU students, faculty, staff and the local community

Sponsored by the WIU Department of Economics and Decision Sciences (EDS) and the WIU Visiting Lecture Series, the day's activities and speakers are planned in conjunction with the Center for Economic Education (CEE) at WIU. As a part of a national and state network of economic education, the CEE's primary goal is enhancement and improvement of the recruiting process for economics students by encouraging economic education.

This year's "Economics Day" events include:
10 - 11 a.m. – A discussion of "Freakonomics"—should schools should pay students for good grades?
11 a.m. - noon – "Economics in the News" an overview of the economy, the fiscal cliff and the trillion dollar coin.
2 - 3 p.m. – Alumni viewpoint with Linsey Ackerman of Caterpillar. Ackerman will discuss economics, education and working in the global business environment.
