Diane works in the Office of Student Activities as an Office Manager. She began her career at WIU in July of 2006 as a Secretary III in the Business Advising Center, and has progressively advanced to her current position. Diane performs duties for the Director and Asst. Director of the department, supervises ten Graduate Assistants and five student assistants, is responsible for the departmental budget, and serves on the Visiting Lecture Committee. Diane enjoys working with the students and graduate students the most. She shares, "Every day is different. I love seeing the students grow, learn, and change; then leave prepared for their respective careers." Diane serves as a volunteer mentor for freshmen students through the WIU Building Connections Program. The mentoring program and serving on a Search Committee for their new Director are two of her most memorable experiences. One of Diane's favorite events to attend at Western is the Theme Speakers. She states, "All of the speakers are always interesting. Most are free to attend, and I learn a lot from them." When Diane is not working, she enjoys spending family time with her children and learning new crafts.
