Abigail is an English major. When she's not at the UWC, she likes to read and binge watch TV shows. She's excited to help clients with their writing skills.

Ben (he/him/his)

Ben is an Instrumental Conducting major in the School of Music. When he's not at the UWC, he likes to play frisbee, basketball, and go bowling. He enjoys using his persepective as a graduate writer to give writers confidence as they seek his advice in their work. He uses his past experiences to understand their challenges as writers and guide them through the process.

Bukola (she/her/hers)

Bukola is an English Literature major. When she's not at the UWC, she likes to cook because it warms her heart to see people eat and enjoy the food she preapared. She also enjoys watching movies. Working at the UWC gives Bukola a place to practice what she loves doing: teaching. She loves to see people excel in their academics and the UWC gives her the opportunity to make this happen.

Emma

Emma is a Literature and Language major. When they're not at the UWC, Emma loves making Spotify playlists, watching The Office, and cooking—often all at the same time! She loves the diversity of papers and assignments she helps with as a UWC Consultant and the variety of writing styles.

Emmanuel

Emmanuel is a History major. When they're not at the UWC, Emmanuel likes to go to the gym, read at the library, and bike. He is passionate about helping people excel in their education and explore the diverse knoweledge available at WIU.

Ethan (they/them)

Emmanuel is a Musicology major. When they're not at the UWC, they enjoy reading, dancing, and playing the erhu. Their favorite part about working in writing centers is encountering a wide range of academic disciplines and learning things they wouldn't normally be exposed to in their studies.

Fanbin (he/his)

Fanbin is working toward his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. When he's not at the UWC, he likes to meditate, exercise, read, travel, attend classes, and spend time with family. His goals as a UWC consultant are to help writers develop writing skills, acquire strategies for effective written communication, and learn how audience, purpose, context, genre, and discourse commmunities interact in any given writing situation.

Kirsten is an English major. When she's not at the UWC, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, reading, listening to music, playing Animal Crossing, and more! She's excited to hone her tutoring skills and work with students one-on-one.

Liz/Lizzy (she/her/hers)

Liz is an English major. When she's not at the UWC, she spends her time watching sitcoms, reading philosophical novels, eating ramen, making and listening to music, and hanging out with pals (human or otherwise). She is passionate about helping clients find the best way to communicate.

Logan

Logan is an English major in the Quad Cities. When they're not at the UWC QC Complex 2219, they're a competitive videogamer, crative writer, self-taught car mechanic, tatto enthusiast, and a student of Brazilian Jui Jitsu. Logan strives to help people become better communicators and believes that we write to express ourselves and converse with others, so in improving our writing, we improve our ability to consider other viewpoints, organize our thoughts, and communicate them clearly. Such skills apply to all professions and disciplines, and Logan hopes that they can help students realize the value of writing.

Marietta (she/her/hers)

Marietta is a Communication major. When she's not at the UWC, she likes to watch reality TV and cook. She was driven to work at the UWC because she likes being a source of encouragement to writers who may need a little help to express themselves through their writing. The smiles on her clients' faces when they finally know how to go about their writing brings her joy.

Mark is an English major. When he's not at the UWC, he stays active, reads some, writes some, plays videogames, prepares for D&D campaigns, and plays the drums. He loves helping people work through problems they may have throughout a paper.

Maureen is an Instructional Design and Technology major. When she's not at the UWC, she likes to read, be outside with her dog, attend WIU music performances, and cook/bake. She enjoys the opportunity to witness and assist students to become more confident writers!

Taylor is a Clinical/Community Mental Health major. When she's not at the UWC, she likes to crochet, watch TV shows/movies, and listen to music. She became a UWC consultant because she wanted to help students improve their writing while continuing to grow as a writer herself.

Tom is a graduate student in School Psychology. When they're not at the UWC, Tom spends time listening to and playing music, playing computer games, and exercising. They enjoy helping writers develop strategies throughout the writing process.
