Scholarship Information

The WIU Scholarship Office offers scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students during the summer semester. Recipients receive $500 awards, and selection will be based on the following criteria:

Undergraduate Students

  • Have a declared major
  • Have a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average
  • Be in good judicial standing
  • Consideration may be given for extra-curricular activities including on-campus student organizations
  • Preference will be given to students enrolled as a full-time student (12 or more hours) during the preceding spring semester with enrollment in a minimum of six total credit hours during the summer session
  • Preference will be given to students who have earned 60+ credit hours

Graduate Students

  • Have a 3.5 or high cumulative WIU GPA
  • Be in good judicial standing
  • Evidence of extra-curricular activities including on-campus organizations
  • Consideration may be given for extra-curricular activities including on-campus student organizations
  • Preference will be given to students enrolled as a full-time student (9 or more hours) during the preceding spring semester with enrollment in a minimum six total credit hours during the summer session

Applications are available through the WIU Scholarship Portal. To apply:

  1. Sign in to the WIU Scholarship Portal using your ECOM username and password
  2. If you haven't already, complete the General Application
  3. Complete and submit the WIU Foundation Summer Scholarship application questions

Scholarship awards are dependent on the availability of sufficient funding.
