Kayla Anderson
Kayla Anderson is a first year Graduate Assistant in the University Counseling Center for the 2021-2022 school year. She is a first year student in the Clinical/Community Mental Health program at Western Illinois University. Kayla is an alumni of Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois and Monmouth College, in Monmouth, Illinois, where she graduated with her Associate’s in Art and Bachelor’s in Psychology.
She values a person-centered approach to working with students, appreciating the value of genuineness, empathy, and unconditional positive regard in facilitating strong therapeutic relationships. She aspires to work with marginalized and disenfranchised populations in outpatient mental health settings. While she is not working in the UCC or in the Psychology Department, she enjoys hanging out with her cat, binging shows/Tik Tok, and traveling.
