The Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center proudly sponsors the Black Male Achievement Network [BMAN] Leadership Retreat. This retreat endorses the aim of BMAN to provide opportunities for identity development, social activism, and scholastic achievement.

This year our retreat is themed "Fear not, Stand Firm", and it also serves as our official motto for BMAN. It is our hope during this fellowship we encourage men at Western Illinois University (WIU) and the surrounding community to build relationships amongst each and develop awareness of resources supported by the University.

This retreat includes an opening keynote by Dr. Algerian Hart, Associate Profession Kinesiology, on Thursday, November 30, 2017. Followed by a team building activities on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 5:30 pm in the Multicultural Center. The leadership retreat concludes on Saturday, December 2, 2017.
