Information for Current Members
The Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council and Panhellenic Council are the unifying, governing, and coordinating bodies of the sorority and fraternity community. These councils are the representative body of as well as the communication link between the fraternities and sororities, campus organizations, and the community. Each council offers a wide variety of programs that benefit the entire sorority and fraternity community ranging from educational programs to community service opportunities.
Greek Life Programs in the Office of Student Activities also serves the members of the Greek Community through chapter and council advisement, individual consultation, program support and resource development. For any assistance, you can contact the Greek Life Programs staff or one of the governing councils (Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council, or United Greek Council).
Thoughts on Being Greek
How has being Greek positively affected/changed you?
Being Greek has played a very large role on me. I spent my freshman year here at WIU non-Greek, and I never did anything, wasn't involved, had a couple close friends I could count on. After joining Delta Zeta last year as a sophomore, I have allowed my leadership qualities to show and I have gotten extremely involved. I now hold a position in my house along with PHC, and I am also the president of Colleges Against Cancer. Being a sorority has shown me the opportunities that are out there and all you have to do is go for it.
