File to Win!100 will win, but thousands can benefit from filing early

Undergraduate students who file their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on January 1, 2015 will be entered to win a $200 WIU Book Award for the Fall 2015 semester.

A total of 100 book awards will be given using random selection of all FAFSA applications received and dated by the Federal Processor on 01/01/2015. Winners will be notified at their WIU email account and awards will be listed on their 2015-16 Financial Aid Award Letter on STARS.

To receive their book award, winners must be eligible for federal student aid and enroll in at least six credit hours of coursework at WIU during the Fall 2015 semester.

How Do I File Early?

Estimate! To file early, families may estimate their 2014 income information and then make corrections once 2014 federal taxes are filed. Using end-of-year pay stubs, W-2 forms, or the previous year's tax return can be helpful when estimating tax information.
