Connect with DRC as a Prospective WIU Student

Although DRC works with the campus community to create accessible and inclusive environments, there may be elements of instruction or course design that result in barriers to your participation or accurate assessment of achievement. If this is the case, you may wish to connect with DRC. Registering with DRC as a prospective student is a 3-step process:

  1. Contact our office by phone at 309-298-2512 or in person at 143 Memorial Hall
  2. Provide us with documentation of your diagnosis.  You may have questions about what kind of documentation you need to provide as you go through this process. Please know that you are the best source of information about your experiences; it is imperative that we hear from you what your experience and accommodation history has been. If we need documentation of any kind, we will, in most cases, use documentation that you already have. In some cases, students may be referred to a campus resource for an evaluation, but DRC staff will work to ensure that appropriate accommodations are in place while the evaluation is taking place.
  3. Set up a Welcome appointment with one of our staff.
