Scheduling Appointments with DRC

Welcome Appointments

Your welcome appointment is usually your first appointment with a DRC staff member. During this initial appointment, you will meet with a DRC staff member to answer questions about the barriers you have experienced or anticipate experiencing at WIU, discuss modifications that may provide you with greater access, and learn about DRC procedures for arranging accommodations. Students who do not live in the Macomb area can choose to have a phone appointment, rather than a face-to-face, if it is not convenient to travel to Macomb.

Beginning Accommodation Meetings

Each semester you will meet with a DRC staff member to pick up an accommodation letter to share with faculty members. Your accommodation letter lists the adjustments that will allow your equitable participation in the course, but does not provide specific information about your disability. This is a 15 to 30 minute appointment.

Test Scheduling Appointment

If you are planning to take your exams with the DRC exam service, you will meet with a DRC staff member to learn how to use the online exam scheduling program. It is important to bring your course syllabi with you to this appointment. Once you’ve scheduled your exams with DRC, we will work with your faculty to make the necessary arrangements.
