Beu Health Center
All students registered and assessed fees for 9 semester hours of on-campus classes* as of the 10th day of the term and all graduate assistants under contract to the University enrolled for at least 1 hour of coursework will be assessed the insurance fee on their University bill. WESL and study abroad students are also assessed the insurance fee.
*Excluding post-session, extension, correspondence, online, or extramural hours.
Students Eligible to Sign up for Coverage**
- Western Illinois University Quad Cities Campus students; and extension, independent study, and online students are eligible to purchase coverage if enrolled for 9 or more hours. Application is to be made during the first 10 days of the fall and spring terms. Coverage is not continuous; you must reapply each semester you are eligible.
- Undergraduate and graduate students who require less than 9 hours to graduate; have graduate clearance forms on file; and are registered for 6, 7, or 8 hours are eligible. Application is to be made during the first 10 days of the term.
- Insured graduating students who will not be enrolled in classes during the term following graduation are eligible to purchase 3 months of this coverage. These students are not eligible for any Beu Health Center benefits or services. Application is to be made prior to the last day of the covered period.
**Coverage begins the date application is made but not prior to the effective date of the term. Applications are available in the Student Health Insurance Office, Lower Level/Beu Health Center.
