New Scholarship STEM-B Scholarship

GPA, ACT, Year in School: Freshman; minimum GPA 3.0, minimum ACT 20 (SAT 1030) or Transfer minimum community college GPA 2.75

Major, Other Requirements: Open to entering freshman or transfer students majoring in engineering, engineering technology, or any major in the College of Business & Technology at WIU-Quad Cities. Students must be enrolled full-time, taking at least six semester hours of math, science, engineering or business classes, and involved in a STEM or business club (i.e. First Lego League, Science Olympiad, 4-H, eSports, Entrepreneurship Club, etc.), in high school.

Deadline to Apply: Rolling. First 50 enrolled students.

Award Amount: $500 ($250/semester)

Current Engineering Student Scholarships

GPA, ACT, Year in School: Current Student; minimum GPA 2.5; maintain "C" or above in all enrolled classes

Major, Other Requirements: This scholarship is available to current full-time students who volunteer with local high schools in STEM and business-related clubs and activities. Students should be enrolled in at least six semester hours of math, science, or engineering/CBT classes as an accepted Engineering, Engineering Technology or College of Business & Technology student on the Quad Cities Campus.

Derek Bloomfield Engineering Scholarship

Derek Bloomfield earned a B.S. degree in Engineering in 2011. He is Manager of the Product Engineering Department at Sivyer Steel, Bettendorf, IA.

Lavern & Nola McEntire Engineering Scholarship

CRITERIA: To apply for this scholarship, a student must be enrolled at Western Illinois University, majoring in Engineering and be entering his/her junior or senior year. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or all completed coursework is required and a minimum 2.75 grade point average in Engineering coursework is also required. While grade point is important, it should not overshadow the importance of outside activities and work experience.

ELIGIBILITTY: Students must be Engineering majors at Western Illinois University-Quad Cities.

External Scholarships

National Association of Women in Construction Scholarships

The Quad Cities Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction promotes education and contributes to the betterment of the construction industry.  To further this goal, our chapter annually awards scholarships to local/regional male and female students pursuing an education in a construction-related field.  Since beginning our scholarship program, we have awarded over $182,000 in scholarship funds!  Applications are due March 31st each year.

2020 Veteran Car Donations Annual Scholarship

Deadline Date: August 15th, 2020

Detailed Description: With an increasingly complex and demanding world, successful solutions to our nation’s (and our world’s) problems require a solid education. As a leader in nonprofit fundraising, Veteran Car Donations sees, up close, the many issues facing today’s society. What better way to help combat these problems than to help pave the way for tomorrow’s leaders? To put our money where our mouth is, we are announcing the 2020 Veteran Car Donations Annual College Scholarship – supporting students pursuing STEM-related degrees. According to the Department of Education, STEM fields of study include computer sciences, engineering, mathematics, natural sciences (including physical, biological, and agricultural sciences), and related fields. Related fields involve research, innovation, and/or the development of new technologies using the aforementioned fields of study. Veteran Car Donations will award the selected student applicant $1,000 to be used toward his or her degree. In addition, Veteran Car Donations will award a $250 textbook scholarship to the two runners-up.

Value of Scholarship: $1,000 (1 winner), $250 (2 runner ups)

Qualifications: To qualify, undergraduate students must be majoring in a STEM field of study (or related field) as well as attending an accredited college or university.

AMERICANMUSCLE AUTOMOTIVE SCHOLARSHIPS

AmericanMuscle: 4 x $2000 scholarships for students pursuing an automotive themed major(mechanical engineering, robotics etc.) Two scholarships will be awarded every spring semester, followed by two additional scholarships to be awarded for the fall semester each year
