A student must have a 3.4 or higher cumulative grade point average in all post-secondary course work (community college or other institutions of higher education). With the permission of the Director of the Honors College, a student can be admitted with a 3.4 or higher grade point average (based on at least 12 semester credit hours) in courses taken at WIU. A student must maintain a 3.4 or higher GPA to remain in the honors program. A student must earn a minimum of 40 s.h. at WIU after admission to the Honors Program. Ideally, the student will complete their degree within 4 years after being admitted to the Honors Program. With the permission of the Director of the Honors College, a different graduation time-line will be permitted.
