Due to the cooler conditions and very wet weather, this year's field day will take place on Thursday, June 6, 2013
Western Illinois University
Agriculture Field Laboratory
(North of the Harry Mussatto Golf Course on Tower Road)
*No registration required* and free to the public
This day has been established to introduce the new winter annual crop Field Pennycress to local producers. Researchers along with industry representatives will be present to discuss this very unique short season crop. Unfortunately, with all the wet weather and flooded fields, the plots are struggling to get established. We will discuss the results from the previous year and have a chance to tour the plots.
The day is set up as a guided tour through the plots with plenty of time for pictures and individual questions. If you have any questions or would like to bring a large group,
please contact Dr. Win Phippen (309) 298-1251 for more details.
