WIU, EICC Agreement: Business Programs
July 5, 2013
MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Prospective college students interested in pursuing degrees in human resource management, management, marketing and supply chain management can now complete classes at Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) and transfer immediately to Western Illinois University as part of new dual enrollment program.
The new 2+2 agreement between EICC and WIU allows students the opportunity to complete general education and related courses at EICC and then complete a seamless transfer to Western's campuses in Macomb or Moline to complete a bachelor's degree.
"This latest partnership with Eastern Iowa Community Colleges provides yet another accessible option for individuals who want to continue their education. We look forward to continuing to work with EICC to provide additional agreements that benefit students in the region," said WIU Admissions Director Andy Borst.
According to Borst, the 2+2 program allows students to complete their freshman and sophomore years at one of EICC's campuses in Bettendorf, Davenport, Clinton or Muscatine to earn the appropriate associate degree and transfer to Western to complete a bachelor's degree.
"We commend EICC's faculty, staff and administration for providing invaluable assistance with this most recent agreement with Western and the College of Business and Technology," noted WIU College of Business and Technology Dean Tom Erekson. "It is essential that higher education be accessible, and cooperative programs such as this makes it easier than ever for transfer students to obtain a four year degree."
The new 2+2 agreements expand upon other recent agreements between Western and EICC, including reverse transfer and dual enrollment agreements, which continue to provide a seamless learning opportunity, Borst added.
