Western Illinois University Reports Record-Breaking Honors College Enrollment

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Centennial Honors College reported a record-breaking enrollment of honors students for the Spring 2016 semester.

Through various recruitment efforts and initiatives, 800 honors students are enrolled at the Macomb campus, and 45 students are attending the WIU-Quad Cities campus. The WIU-QC has increased their enrollment from two honors students two years ago to the current 45.

The WIU Centennial Honors College is an interdisciplinary academic home for academically talented and highly motivated students. It provides an enriched academic curriculum and opportunities for leadership, professional growth, service learning and personal interaction with WIU's top professors. Students may join the Honors College as first-year students, transfer students or once they reach the standards of eligibility as currently enrolled students.

The increased enrollment on the Honors College reinforces Western Illinois University's core values of academic excellence, educational opportunity, personal growth and social responsibility.
