WIU Offering Study Abroad Program in India

MACOMB, IL – Two informational meetings about a short-term study abroad opportunity in India, through Western Illinois University, will be held in the coming weeks.

The meetings will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24 in Morgan Hall, room, 307, and at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9 in Morgan Hall, room 230.

The two courses are available for undergraduate and graduate credits in anthropology and religious studies; however, all majors are welcome. Scholarship funding is available and students may take three or six credits.

Students who enroll will spend two weeks in India, May-June 2016 and will have the option of taking one or two classes while studying abroad.

Through both courses, students will visit sacred and historic sites and stay in the heart of the Himalayas-Dharamshala, the home of the Dalai Lama and Tibetan refugees. The trip will also include stops at the Golden Temple and exploration of New Delhi.
