WIU's 39th Annual International Bazaar Set For March 2-3

MACOMB, IL - A multicultural experience comes to Western Illinois University with the 39th annual International Bazaar March 2-3, featuring displays from around the world, as well as a variety of foods, styles and activities.

The bazaar, "Harmony Between Life and Nature," is open Friday, March 2 from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, March 3 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. in the WIU University Union Grand Ballroom.

On opening night (March 2), visitors can browse display booths. There will also be music and dance performances by students from various countries and pastries from around the world will be available.
Admission for Friday night is $5 for the public, $4 for Western Illinois students with a valid school ID and free for children under 12.

The International Bazaar continues Saturday, March 3 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. with non-stop entertainment from various countries such as African and Puerto Rico traditional dances and musical instrumentals.
A fashion show with a description of the native costumes will be held, and Macomb's local talent will perform, including Dana's Dance Studio, Banat Casablanca Tribal Belly Dancers and the Monmouth College Bagpipers.

Tour the cultural display booths and sample cuisines from original recipes prepared by participating students. A children's room will be open from 6-8 p.m., featuring international art and interactive activities. Admission for Saturday is $5.50 for the public, $4.50 for WIU students with valid ID and free for children under 12. Food sampling tickets will be available for an additional fee.
