MACOMB, IL -- Jessica Lambert, web specialist I for University Relations at Western Illinois University, has been named the WIU September Civil Service Employee of the Month.

According to her nominators, "Jessica's enthusiasm is infectious. Her personality and work ethic are examples of how she goes above and beyond the normal job requirements. She understands the urgency in completing tasks, and does so swiftly without sacrificing accuracy or quality of work."

"She creates web design pieces that are effective and representative of our division and our University. Since beginning with University Relations, she has purposely and methodically come to know all areas and employees of the Division of Advancement and Public Services in order to maximize our presence on the web and make certain that websites are working efficiently for the offices," her nominators added. "She has improved the professionalism and attractiveness of our web presence, and she has had a positive effect on the motivation level of other team members in completing projects."

Lambert was hired full-time in September 2010. She previously was a graduate assistant, working as a graphic designer and web specialist, for University Relations.

"Jessica's commitment to not only her division, but to the University, are to be commended," said Wendi Mattson, Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) public relations representative. "It is employees such as Jessica that put Western in such a positive light."

Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this recognition should contact Mattson at WK-Mattson@wiu.edu.
