Timely Warning Update [11/11/10]

MACOMB, IL -- A second juvenile was apprehended at approximately 11:45 p.m. by Macomb Police and the Office of Public Safety in connection with the armed robbery that took place earlier in the evening. Both juveniles have been charged with armed robbery and are in custody.

Timely Warning: Armed Robbery [11/10/10]

MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University Director of Public Safety Bob Fitzgerald has issued a notice to the campus community regarding an armed robbery on the Macomb campus.

During the early evening hours, a WIU student near Lincoln Hall was approached by two males. One of the individuals grabbed the student, held a knife to his neck and demanded money. The individuals fled the area upon the approach of OPS officers; one individual, later identified as a juvenile, was apprehended. Officers are continuing the search for the second suspect. The subject who fled is described as a black male, approximately 5'6", thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

Students should be observant of suspicious behavior and report anything out of the ordinary to the Office of Public Safety at 298-1949.
