MACOMB, IL – The Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) at Western Illinois University is pleased to announce that Janet Gabbert, accountant II in the Foundation and Development Office, has been selected as the June Civil Service Employee of the Month.

Gabbert’s nominators said that she fulfills her duties with diligence and dedication. She is responsible for reports, investements and all departmental and foundation accounts. In her 17 years with the Foundation Office there has never been an audit fault.

“Donors are always made to feel respected and valued when speaking with Janet. She’s always able to answer their questions and requests,” wrote a nominator.

In addition, her nominators stated that Gabbert has taken on the responsibility of being the “computer person” for Foundation, Development and Scholarship Offices. “Janet sets up the new equipment and goes beyond what is required to make sure everything works fine.”

Gabbert started at Western in 1977 as an accounting clerk in the Business Office. She joined the Foundation and Development staff in June 1988.

“Janet’s willingness to help others, her courtesy and her professionalism are qualities of a dedicated employee. We’d like to thank her for a job well done,” said Janet Koll, CSEC public relations officer.

Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this recognition should call Koll at 309/298-1811 or e-mail JM-Koll@wiu.edu.
