Open Session for Director of Development for Corporate Relations at WIU

MACOMB/MOLINE – A candidate for the Western Illinois University Director of Development for Corporate Relations position will interview Tuesday, Sept. 28, on the Quad Cities campus.

Jennifer Von Kaenel will be available for a virtual open session with faculty and staff from 1-1:45 p.m. in the 3420A board room on the Moline, IL, campus. To receive the link for the session, email Alison Shook at ak-shook@wiu.edu.

The position will be based on WIU's Quad Cities campus.

Von Kaenel has served as the development director for Junior Achievement of the Heartland, of Moline, since 2019. She has also served as the senior vice president of resource development at the United Way of the Quad Cities, in Bettendorf, IA, in 2019; the director of development and public relations at The Moline Foundation from 2017-2019; the director of development at WVIK Quad Cities NPR at Augustana College from 2010-2017; director of development and marketing at Transitions Mental Health Services, in Rock Island, IL from 2009-2010; director of development at Gilda's Club, in Davenport, IA, from 2008-2009; central states regional development manager at AFS-USA Intercultural Programs, in St. Paul, MN, from 2000-2004 and from 2005-2008; and as vice president of major gifts and endowment at the United Way of the Quad Cities in Davenport, IA, from 2004-2005.

Von Kaenel received her bachelor's degree in theater and political science from Augustana College, and her master's degree in community arts management from the University of Illinois at Springfield.

The position serves as the primary contact for corporations in collaborating with the University; works closely with other campus partners to coordinate strategic relationships between Western and corporations; coordinates University fundraising approaches and develops and presents funding proposals to corporations; ensures a high-quality stewardship process; assists in similar functions with identification, cultivation, and solicitation of foundations for support of WIU.
