WIU School Speakers Program Goes Remote

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – The Western Illinois University Office of Undergraduate Admissions' School Speakers Outreach Program is underway once again to bring expert sources from WIU into area classrooms. The Fall 2020 program is providing WIU experts via remote learning during the pandemic.

According to Admissions Counselor, Sarah Gibson, the school speakers outreach program, which launched in Fall 2019, brings WIU faculty into regional high school and community college classrooms to speak about their area of expertise, in conjunction with topics and units being covered in the classroom. Teachers and counselors from area high schools and community colleges can request a remote speaker by visiting wiu.edu/admissions/schoolspeakers.

"We are thrilled to be able to continue this important initiative remotely so that our exceptional faculty can connect with area high school and community college classrooms," Gibson added. "We have outstanding faculty and staff who are expert sources in their subject matters, and many are willing to take part in classroom discussions as partners with our area educators."
