MACOMB, IL - WIU BRASSFEST 2020 will be held at Western Illinois University, beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The daylong festival includes clinics, performances and a side-by-side brass choir performance with faculty and guests. Featured guests, the New Chicago Brass Quintet, will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the COFAC Recital Hall.

New Chicago Brass Quintet is comprised of members of New Chicago Brass, the new generation of professional brass performance in Chicago. Since its inception in 2012, NCB has blown away audiences in the Chicagoland area and beyond. New Chicago Brass enjoys a varied repertoire, from traditional brass audience favorites like Giovanni Gabrieli and J.S. Bach, to more contemporary composers, such as Jan Koetsier, Anthony Plog and David Sampson.

Registration for BRASSFEST 2020 may be submitted in advance or may be completed at the festival, beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the COFAC Recital Hall lobby. The advance registration fee of $35 includes admission to all sessions and the evening performance. Walk-in registration is $40.

General admission for the evening concert is $10, at the door. WIU students will be admitted free with a valid student identification card.
