MOLINE, IL - - The Western Illinois University Supply Chain Management Student Association-Quad Cities (SCMSA-QC) recently had the opportunity to pair up with directors and managers at Group O in Milan, IL, to learn about supply chain functions.

Group O, a packaging, supply chain and marketing services company, offered WIU-QC students the chance to get some professional mentorship while learning about various supply chain functions, such as scheduling and client services, kitting operations, strategic sourcing and pricing, order management, production and tail spend management, through three rounds of one-hour job shadows.

Students spent the day with managers and directors learning about what a typical supply chain work day might look like and some challenges they might encounter, and they were able to ask questions and learn problem-solving skills in real-time.

Because of the success of this event, Group O plans to host another similar event in the spring.
