MACOMB, IL – Iowa artists and WIU alumni Serena Stevens and Tim Van Ginkel will have their exhibition, "Milk and Honey: Tones of Home" on display Sept. 24-Oct. 25, at the Western Illinois University Art Gallery.

A reception for the artists will be held Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 4:30-6 p.m. The artists will speak about their work at 5 p.m.

The exhibition is made up of Stevens' oil paintings and Van Ginkel's lithographs.

"The works in the exhibition are intended to create a dialog about how our perceptions of family, friends and ourselves are influenced by location, popular culture and 'home,' according to a description of the work. "The idea is to demonstrate how two artists from similar backgrounds, working with similar themes have both analogous and divergent approaches to imagery and techniques."

The exhibit is open free to the public. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-noon; 1-4 p.m. and Saturday 1-4 p.m. The gallery is closed on University holidays.
