New Event – 'Neck Up the Square – Aug. 23

MACOMB, IL –- Western Illinois University, in partnership with the Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Macomb, will co-sponsor a new event this Friday, 'Neck Up the Square. The event will be held around the Macomb Downtown Square from 4-7 p.m. Aug. 23.

"We're happy to work closely with the City of Macomb, Downtown Macomb and the Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce to bring our students, faculty, staff, and community members together," said WIU Acting President Martin Abraham. "This is a great way for everyone to get to know one another and celebrate our town-gown relationship."

Students, faculty, staff, community members and alumni are welcome to attend the "meet and mingle" event, which will feature games, prizes, food, music and more.

"We're excited to kick off this new event and showcase our community to our friends and neighbors at WIU, as well as throughout our community and region," said Macomb Mayor Mike Inman.
