Retiring WIU Psychology Professor Requests Fundraiser for Student Organizations

MACOMB, IL – As Western Illinois University Professor Jeff Laurent prepares to retire, he has requested a fundraiser be held for the WIU Department of Psychology's two student organizations.

To honor that request, at least three WIU psychology professors, including Laurent, will sit in a dunk tank north of the University Union from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, May 3. The other two professors who have signed up to participate so far are Professor Kimberley McClure, Assistant Professor Kristy Keefe and Professor Colin R. Harbke.

Students can get one throw for $1 or can press the button for an automatic dunk for $5. WIU alumni and staff can get three throws for $5 or can press the button for $10.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to Psi Chi or G.A.S.P.
