MACOMB, IL – The Starry Night Repertory Theatre will present four performances of "Over the River and Through the Woods" Thursday-Saturday, March 21-23.

The performances will be at 7:30 p.m. March 21-23 and a 2 p.m. matinee March 23 in the banquet hall of the Macomb Elks Lodge, 401 S. Deere Rd., in Macomb.

The show is written by Joe DiPietro, the author of two of Starry Night's most popular shows, "The Last Romance" and "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change."

"Over the River and Through the Woods," directed by Emily Wirkus, is about Nick, a single, Italian-American from New Jersey. His parents retired and moved to Florida, but he faithfully visits both sets of his grandparents each Sunday for dinner until he gets a job across the country. The play is a "celebration of love, laughter and lasagna" as the grandparents plot to keep their grandson close to home.

The cast includes WIU theatre graduate student Zeke Bocklage, of Macomb as Nick; senior musical theatre major Kimberlyn Massey as Caitlin. WIU Program Coordinator Mike Music and his wife, Katie, along with Dan Woods and Jeannie Marlin play the Italian grandparents.

Starry Night is offering special admission prices for what is the final show of the 2018-19 theatre season. Anyone who purchases an $18 general admission ticket can get a second for half price. Tickets for WIU students are $5 with valid identification. Tickets are available online at StarryNightRep.org or at the door.

The program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency through federal funds provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and through local funds from the Two Rivers Arts Council, a regional arts organization.
