MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University College of Business and Technology Academic Advisor Andi Potter has been named the Advisor of the Month for November.

According to the students who nominated Potter, she "loves WIU and it shows."

"She would do anything for her students and she's helped me with some complex advising issues...she always goes above and beyond to help me," said a nominator. "She wants all of her students to be the best that they can be and she helps them achieve that."

Potter also encourages her students to be professional and to make connections on campus.

"Mrs. Potter has been very influential in showing us how much we're not only valued on the campus but in life. She has built very positive relationships with her students and pushes us to continue to build relationships with others," said one nominator. "Mrs. Potter is very professional and pushes us to be just as professional, even though we're not in a career. Her willingness to make us not only professional but to also be better people is something more people need to do, especially in today's cultural climate."

Each month, a WIU advisor is honored with a certificate and trophy. Award winners are decided by a committee that considers each of the applications for the month.
