Two WIU Students Awarded Phi Beta Delta Study Abroad Scholarships
December 5, 2018
MACOMB, IL -- The International Honor Society Phi Beta Delta's Eta Epsilon Chapter at Western Illinois University has awarded two $500 scholarships to students studying abroad during the Spring 2019 semester.
Cody Sikes is a junior music major from Macomb, who will be studying abroad in New Zealand for the spring semester.
"I am very thankful for this scholarship and the opportunity to study abroad in New Zealand," said Sikes. "This will be a great opportunity to not only advance in my studies, but to also help me learn about who I am."
Victoria Harmon is a senior art major from Wyoming, IL, who will be participating in the faculty-led study abroad course "Interesting Times, The Venice Biennale and Roman Renaissance" in Italy in May.
"Italy has always been a dream destination of mine," said Harmon. "It is always a revolutionary moment to take the paintings, frescos and cathedrals you have learned about all semester in art history and then see them in the real world in real time. I am so excited to glimpse the art world that resides in Venice and Rome."
