Retirement Reception for Gayle Vincent Dec. 14

MACOMB, IL -- A retirement reception for Western Illinois University Financial Aid Adviser Manager Gayle Vincent will be held from 3-4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec.14 in the Financial Aid Conference Room (Sherman Hall, 121).

Vincent began her WIU career in 1998 as a secretary III for the Financial Aid Office. In 1999, she was re-classified to a chief clerk and then a staff clerk in July 2009.  In December 2009, she was promoted to a financial aid adviser IV and has been financial aid adviser manager in the Office of Financial Aid since 2012.

She has served in a number of capacities and has been a tremendous resource in the Financial Aid Office.  Her co-workers describe her as "helpful, dedicated, and always willing to go the extra mile." Vincent was nominated and awarded Civil Service of the Month in January 2003.
While working full-time in the Financial Aid Office, Gayle earned her bachelor's degree in general studies, with a minor in women's studies, and graduated from WIU in 2014.

Vincent will retire Dec. 14 after serving WIU and the Office of Financial Aid for 20 years.
