SBDC Business Competition

MACOMB, IL – Have a great idea for a local business? The Small Business Development Center invites Western Illinois University students to take part in a competition to pitch business or product ideas to a group of judges from the business, investment and entrepreneurial community.

The WIU Pitch Competition will start with classes, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 5, and end with pitches Monday, April 8. The first place pitch will win $1,000; other prizes include free business consultations.

Eligible participants will have 15 minutes to pitch their idea: five minutes for set-up, five minutes to sell their business and five minutes for judges' questions.

Registration is due by Thursday, Jan. 31. The competition time and venue will be announced at a later date.
